Speeding along

This week while volunteering at the food co-op we were on fire! The truck arrived early just before 10 and we were so well organised that we had all 268 food packs done before 11am, instead of closer to 12 that normally occurs. I was at the start of the vege-packing line and on the few occasions when we were asked to speed up, we would invariably be told “Woah! Stop! That’s enough!” and to wait for a while – so instead a consistent pace was found to work best.

Office copier

The new office copier at the community centre is doing a good job, it’s an MB451W multifunction printer, but the staff could do with some training. This morning they tried to in a hurry copy some pages and came to me needing some help – apparently you need to press the Copy selector on the panel before the copy button will do it’s thing 🙂

Marvelous Taiwan

I was invited this evening to a stage dance production that demonstrates the culture, festivities and legends of Taiwan. It was incredibly rich and varied and a joy to behold. It started off with festivals in Taiwan where they welcomed spring and celebrated the new year, before the messenger of the Gods and drumming occurred to get rid of bad spirits. After an intermission the mid-section was of dancing flowers in Taiwan, featuring different flowers that bloom in the spring, and a special piece about their orchids. After another intermission things finished off with Immigrating to Taiwan, where their journey through the ocean from China was portrayed, the building up of homes, harvesting of fish & rice, and using cleaning rituals to teach respect.

Overall it was an excellent production and I only wish now that I had the opportunity to share it with more people.
